Get Your Moto Started

So Spring may have officially arrived, but it’s nowhere in sight up here in JC. In spite of that, I’ve decided to take a wishful approach to dressing in the days ahead. When temps rise into the 50s, I’m going to break out whatever lighter layers I can. First on the list, a moto jacket. In white leather, no less. This jacket is such a classic you could collect it in many colors, textures and silhouettes. Note to self, now that shopping hiatus is over look for a new black one. Or perhaps a moto jacket in an unexpected shade or texture? Neutral? Bright? What would you pick?

There are so many reasons why I love this outfit and why this shoot was so fun. First and foremost, I finally felt like winter’s chill was lifting! Time to break out some old (but timeless) favorites and pair them with some new wardrobe-refreshing fashion. And while I’ll give her Photog credit below, I got to pull this together with one of my favorite Creative Director/Art Director partners of all time. It was the perfect confluence of personal and professional friendship and support.

While most of this look is part of my “Shop My Closet” strategy, each piece solidifies why they are a timeless add to your wardrobe. Let’s start with the white leather moto jacket. Many of you (as do I) already have a black one in your wardrobe, but white just punches up the silhouette no matter the season. This one was a Gilt score a few years back, and it still looks fresh.

What’s new? These fabulous flower-print, paper-bag waist pants. One of my few “shopping ban” cheats. But I was terrified they would sell out. Just love love love them and am already envisioning so many ways to wear them all the way into Fall, if not winter (with tights underneath!). Spoiler alert: they are a SUPER deal. Score them while you can!

My tee features a fun front-and-back v neck and since stripes are so of the moment you can find so many options — sleeveless, long-sleeved, printed, and more. Stripes are going strong, so you won’t go wrong refreshing your wardrobe with one (or two!) new options.

Now let’s talk accessories. I am in LOVE with these white booties. And so is the rest of the fashion world apparently, as they started their strut last Fall and are still showing up in the most stylish places. Aside from their super cool look, these block-heel boots are super comfortable. Always a win-win in my book. If you’ve packed up your boots, go for some flats, slingbacks or pumps.

This brass handle bag was part of my Pop Sugar Limited Edition Winter 2017 Box, and I’ve been waiting to break it out! It’s a chic bag with a minimalistic touch. Made from vegetable-tanned leather, no two Tribe Alive bags are alike. Can you say perfect?
