Going on the Llama!

Is it crazy to build your whole look around a pair of shoes? Not if it’s Shoesday Tuesday! When it came to these llama-detailed velvet sneaks, it was love at first sight for me. But not buy at first sight. I hemmed and hawed for a couple of weeks, then panicked they would sell out. So…a few secs on my Mac, and they were mine. And now we’re together forever, wherever they take me! I mean seriously…are they not the cutest.

As much as I love these navy velvet sneakers, I’m kind of obsessed with this plaid top that lets me continue my fashion love affair with Pom-poms (!) and this perfect pair of skinny jeans. Not to mention the world’s best accessory, my YorkiePoo Bowie (yes, as in David), who makes any blog shoot beyond cute. This easy, breezy popover top is also embellished with embroidery in autumnal shades. And can I just say these jeans are going to be my every day, every month go-to. They hug you where you need and ease up where you want in a medium-to-dark wash and distressing (not too much!). This time, I went for Tall when ordering. For me at (almost) 5′ 9″, it is so great to have jeans that give me the length I love.

I can’t close out this post without mentioning Elk Lake Lodge, where we took these pics. One of the great things about having our own place up in North Country is that we’re not pressured any more to do any one thing. Having the freedom and flexibility to sometimes just “go on the llama” and explore somewhere we’ve never been is really such a gift. Our property doesn’t have direct water access, so with this spectacular lake we might just have to plan a weekend getaway here. You should too!
