Brink of Pink

Even though it’s not yet August, NYC will be awash in head-to-toe black before we know it. So for as long as I can, I’m going to embrace as much color as I can. I’ll make my looks more transitional with long sleeves instead of short or sleeveless and pants instead of shorts. And because there will be still some scorching days ahead, I’m definitely going to keep the pedicures up. And break out every pair of my toe-baring shoes and sandals, before they’re packed away until Summer comes again. Or a tropical Winter vacay!

Pink Power

img_0963What the world needs now? Love, sweet love. Not just for Valentine’s Day but for our future. This outfit was pretty much what I wore for the Women’s March in NYC on Jan 21st. And it really made me feel as happy as that day did. I also marched with my son Pierre’s girlfriend, April, which  was a special moment for me. I am so glad I shared it with such a stellar person, someone who’s going to light the world up in so many ways. And without getting too political that was the vibe of the March. A rainbow of people marching to make sure we all embrace the love, not the hate.

Black & Camel Combo

img_8923A wee bit tired of black and white as your go-to look? Think about combining black and camel. For me, it’s a warmer palette that’s especially flattering to every skin tone. This bell-sleeved peplum sweater is one of my favorite purchases of the season, so that’s where I started. To balance out its fitted and flared silhouette, I paired it with black skinnies. These have patched pleather knees which gives them a bit more of a fashion edge. For accessories, I chose my beloved and oh-so-plush personalized cashmere scarf, a teeny (but it still holds your phone, keys, lipstick and credit card/cash) bucket bag (note to self: ring handles are “it”) and leopard print booties. And let’s not forget Bowie, the ultimate Black & Camel combo!

Fall 2016: Always a Chic Combo

You’ve probably read numerous Wardrobe Must Have features. I know I have. Three pieces that always seem to make the list: White Shirt, Skinny/Straight Jeans, a classic pump. My closet already houses several white shirts/blouses and undoubtedly too many pairs of jeans. But there’s always room for a shoe that takes classic to killer.
