Fa-la-la Flannel!

I’m thinking this look is the country counterpoint to my last Jersey City post…which was 11 days ago! I have been the busiest over these last almost-2-weeks that I’ve been in a long, long while. A big shoot and edit for a L’Oreal haircare project and a new campaign pitch on another haircare brand. While I do love what I do, I’ve missed posting! We shot this look last weekend, and it’s only now late on the following Friday night that I could sit down and write this post, share these pics. Hope you enjoy!

Be Merry, Be Bright, Be You!

Hello, Holidays! Thanksgiving was just over a week ago. Do you feel like you blinked and one fantastic holiday is now hurtling towards another? I don’t know about you, but this time of year I feel like everything goes into hyper mode. I made a detailed TO DO list today, and guess what, not checking it all off. But while we’re all multi-tasking,  let’s also take a deep breath.  We’ve got time to get it done.

All About Autumn

It’s finally Fall y’all, and that means colors like merlot (or burgundy or pinot) and mustard (um…don’t have a snappy variation on that) are on the fashion menu. And I think they are all deliciously beautiful. This look mixes ruffles high and low, not to mention my attempt at “ruffling” my hair. But there you go, sometimes you just have to go for it!

Going on the Llama!

Is it crazy to build your whole look around a pair of shoes? Not if it’s Shoesday Tuesday! When it came to these llama-detailed velvet sneaks, it was love at first sight for me. But not buy at first sight. I hemmed and hawed for a couple of weeks, then panicked they would sell out. So…a few secs on my Mac, and they were mine. And now we’re together forever, wherever they take me! I mean seriously…are they not the cutest.

Pom Poms for Peace!

IMG_2401What do you do when you’ve made the bed, thrown in a load of laundry, worked out and are still waiting on the Hubs to get home? How about a little DIY! Since our afternoon plan centered around a local Studio Tour, I guess I felt inspired to do a little something “artistic” with a recent consignment find. In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, this Summer straw/sea grass/rattan/basket bags are all the rage. And Pom Poms! And while I love the looks other Bloggers are rocking, I couldn’t help wanting to put my own spin on a top 2017 trend. And yes, it literally took me minutes.

Girls Just Want To Have Sun

IMG_0461Well, there’s not one bad thing we can say about our stay in Delray Beach. We just might have to retire here! (And the Dacks, of course.) More on that in a later post. But seriously, my husband Chris first went to Delray as a baby, and he’s loved it ever since. What’s not to love…the beach, tennis (bliss for him, sort of for me), great restaurants, shopping (yay for me), and just a chill vibe. Which we both very much needed.

Palm Beach Preppy

IMG_0301I’m writing this post at the wee hours of our first day back. With a big 9am presentation looming. But my brain is on overdrive. Speaking of drives. It was a 14 1/2 hour one back to Jersey City from Savannah. Who knew Virginia had that much traffic? Yikes. I drove for maybe 1 1/2 hours? Chris was Superman. All in all, it was a great adventure, though next time (?!?) I’m pretty sure I would vote for breaking the drive back up north by one more stop.

Feeling Kind Of Blue

IMG_0084It may be May, but temps here in JC are still on the chilly side. That’s when a jean jacket becomes my day-into-night go-to. This one is by a Earl, a now defunct brand, and is at least 10 years old. I loved it the first day I wore it, and I love it even more all these years later. The fitted cut and dark wash create a more sophisticated, less slouchy silhouette. To keep it fresh, I like to add pins and buttons collected on trips and vintage trawls. Museum shops are great sources, too.

Pretty Little Spring Things

IMG_2386Spring is definitely in my dreams, if not quite in the air. Here in Jersey City we’re still waiting for all of Storm Stella’s now dirty snow to melt. But I love how much warmer the sun feels, how much longer it stays light outside. Don’t you?
