White Jeans…Whenever.

This Fall (and Winter) I’ve decided to flout the “rules” and refuse to pack away my white jeans. That’s been easy of late, since we’ve had a ridiculously warm November. But come colder temps I’m already planning on pairing them with some scrunched down thick socks and snow boots…or tucking them into over-the-knee boots. In NYC we tend to dive into black from head-to-toe post Labor Day, but this year I’m going to be a hold out.

That being said there is A LOT of black in this outfit. Including this multi-texture coat. Love the cloth/faux leather/ruffle combo of it all. And it will still feel sleek and fresh come Spring. Underneath, I’ve got on a cashmere blend turtleneck that’s one of my cold weather go-tos. I wore it to a “fancy” dinner in cold, rainy Turin last year under the slip dress from this post (with black tights and my Valentino Rockstuds. And with jeans and a jacket another day). It is something I think every woman should have in her wardrobe. Super cozy, super chic and super packable. And the turtleneck is every post-50 woman’s friend! The only twist I put on my already-owned jeans was to fray the hem. A chunky black and white scarf, black suede booties with a lace-up detail and my new striped tote…that I’m toting everywhere…complete the look.

What do you think? White jeans…whenever??

Coat: Zara…get it while it lasts! As usual, they are killing it with this and this, too.

Turtleneck: Kit and Ace. Check out everything in their line.

Jeans: J. Crew

Scarf: Last year, from Emerson Fry, an amazing made-in-NY line that produces sleek, sophisticated pieces in small “artisanal” batches. No scarves yet, but take a look. If you want something right now, I like this and this (on sale!).

Booties: old, Rag & Bone but similar here and here.

Bag: Balenciaga.
