Not sure about you, but we were lucky enough to extend this summer’s midweek 4th of July from one weekend to another weekend. And wow, was it hard to come back! I’m a born and raised “NYC girl” (literally Greenwich Village), but I so love my simpler life up in the North Country. I’ve done quite a bit of traveling all over the world and have visited some beautiful and historical places, but The Adirondacks are truly an amazing destination, let alone a National treasure. You have got to put this special place on your bucket list! When we made the big move from a longtime suburban home to a city apartment and a country home, I did some serious closet cleaning. I also had to figure out what from my wardrobe went where. So it’s actually kind of fun to “shop my closet” when we’re up in the Dacks. Not to mention there are tons of cute shops, plus an amazing Farmer’s/Craft Market every Sunday…if I need to supplement my simpler country style.
And this one-of-a-kind, handknit shawl by Heirlooms is my newfound fashion love. While it might be sultry in the city, mountain nights can get pretty cool. You may start out with a t-shirt, but you’ll need more once the sun goes down. Especially if you’re going to the movies. Which we did. And you have to see Wonder Woman! Five stars from us!
So this outfit. Easy, breezy. A cool, crisp palette of grey, white and silver. A fun, colorful tee (Love skulls! Always love Target’s selections!), cropped bootcut jeans, ugly/cute Birkies (LOVE!) (plantar fasciitis!!), a must-have basket bag and my new shawl. I was a happy lady. It’s that simple.
