Frock Around The Clock, Look 2

Well, here we are with a second transitional look that should see you and your favorite summer midi through Fall…and beyond. I first posted this dress here. It was part of an Olivia Palermo x Banana Republic collaboration. As you would expect, every piece was on another level. Sadly, I don’t think year two is in the works, but again, it’s super easy to re-think your favorite summer midi dress just like this. Promise!

Frock Around the Clock, Look 1

Happy Fall, y’all! Today is officially its first day, and there’s actually a refreshing crispness to the air that wasn’t there last week. And I’m loving it! But since it’s still early days, I want to get extra fashion mileage out of some of my favorite summertime frocks. More specifically, the midi and maxi dresses a lot of us lived in. It just feels too soon to say goodbye until next year. So, let’s not. Let’s transition those dresses straight into Fall with just a few simple steps. Are you ready to Frock Around the Clock?

Happy Blog-versary to Me!

Last week, in the midst of more important life moments, I realized that Life’s a Spritz has officially made it through year two. Which makes Fall 2018 my second Blog-iversary (baby steps!). Not earth-shattering but still something I’m proud of. What have I learned? A lot. However you make it your own, blogging is hard (but fun) work, a potential source of income (don’t quit your day job…yet), a way to discover and learn from and even meet lots of cool, unique and inspiring people. What have I accomplished? The balloons are a calorie-free celebration of hitting over 2000 Instagram followers…and counting. And I’m about to receive my first affiliate program payment. (Yay!) I’m ready, set, go for year three. Hope you are too. Most of all, thank you for following and for your support and enthusiasm on this journey.

Sneaking Through September

So here we are with all the fickleness that is September. Last weekend was rainy and chilly, now we’re in the midst of a hot, humid depression thanks to Florence. (Praying for our friends in SC, NC, VA!) After NYFW, I’m sure your Inboxes (like mine) are full of emails about what to buy NOW. But it’s kind of hard, if not crazy, to start loading up on sweaters, boots and coats when the weather is not going to cooperate. For weeks, if not for the next month or two. On that note, I’m focusing this post on a super fun pair of sneakers from a brand I recently discovered. They cover two big pattern trends that show no sign of going away — camo and rainbows. All I can say is…yay! I’m in!!

Feeling Feline

Apparently all the cool girls in Copenhagen have leopard print at the top of their Fall 2018 fashion lists. And we all know my love for leopard knows no bounds. So does that make me cool? Whether it’s yes or no, sometimes it’s best to tone this wild side down a bit. And nothing does that better or more beautifully than a well-tailored (and well-priced!) blazer and pants.

Playful Plaid

Just as gingham is a quintessential summer pattern, plaid is all about fall. Historically plaid has been a checkered or tartan twilled cloth, typically made of wool. The Scottish word “plaide” dates from the 16th century. Think kilts (Outlander!), scarves and windblown moors. And yes, school uniforms! Maybe that’s why I loved this classic pattern even as a high schooler? This fall, plaid is making a serious style statement in unexpected color combinations and silhouettes. And I for one couldn’t be happier.
