Sneaking Through Summer

This summer (and probably for many summers to come) one of my go-to looks (also seen here) is going to be a simple yet well-tailored, knee-length dress, statement sneakers and a fun bag. Add some colorful bracelets, and I’m all set to stalk the city or enjoy an afternoon in the country. Plus, this look breezes from day into night with the greatest of ease.

Jacket Required

There’s no easier or quicker way to polish an outfit than by layering on a well-tailored blazer. I already own one in classic black (seen here) but that feels a bit too formal and dark for Spring’s lighter, brighter days. So when I spotted this caramel-colored double-breasted jacket, I instantly knew it was headed to my closet and into heavy wardrobe rotation.

Say It With Flowers

Did you know the advertising slogan “Say It With Flowers” was created for a Mother’s Day campaign by The Florists’ Telegraph Delivery (or FTD) association in…1918! And yet, it somehow still sounds fresh today. I haven’t had any flowers delivered…yet, and it’s absolutely raining buckets here in Jersey City. But if it were a sunny day, I think this floral print maxi dress would be the start of a perfect Mother’s Day look.

Betting on the Boiler Suit

This Spring, the hottest silhouette on the fashion scene just might be the Boiler Suit. Most sought after in denim, think of it as the edgy evolution of the jumpsuit. It took me awhile, and quite a few try-ons, to find the right one for me. But now that I’ve jumped on the Boiler Suit bandwagon, it’s been a smooth and stylish ride.

Skirting the Rules

Once the weather warms up (will it ever???), skirts become one of my Spring-into-Summer wardrobe go-tos. It’s amazing how many looks you can create with one piece — whether it’s an expected combo or a surprising one, dressed up or dressed down. This striped skirt ticks all the boxes for me — pattern, color, fit and movement. It’s a keeper that’s for sure.
