Informally known as “The Canadian Tuxedo,” jeans and a jean jacket are always a Go To combo for me. Weekends or week days, it’s easiest to make them work together if you keep your denim in different washes (light with dark) and different silhouettes (oversized with skinny). I have to admit this jean jacket has been languishing in my closet all winter long, and temps were just warm enough to let it see the light of day. I also had fun playing with pinks and blues in every hue.
So can I just that say that the deconstructed look of this jean jacket is EVERYTHING. Not to mention the ombre faux fur collar, which is removable come Spring. It’s longer, oversized silhouette also means I can layer a sweater (or even down vest) underneath in the still wintery weeks ahead. This is the second of the three jean jackets I own. I featured another jean jacket in this post. And my oldest, most classic jean jacket is coming up. Three jean jackets might sound like fashion overload, but I don’t think so. Each is distinct in its own style and together they cover a spectrum of outfit options. I think this jean jacket would look awesome over a maxi floral with booties.
Hope you’re not sick of these skinnies. I sure am not. They are on serious ootd rotation. And they’re just one option from the Madewell Denim Bar, which I unreservedly recommend for every style of denim.
Can we talk about this cheeky tee? In case you haven’t noticed, I LOVE (LOVE LOVE) slogan tees. Must be the writer in me? This one had me at the first “très chic,” not to mention times three. I know it’s going to pop with some white jeans and cute sandals this Summer. Speaking of footwear, these pink satin ballet flats are actually from last Spring, and I was so happy to see them again. And while they look like Lanvin, they did not cost like Lanvin! Score!!
Last but not least…this crossbody in antique rose is pink without being precious and sports the best logo of all…mine! A post on “to logo or not” is also upcoming, but for me your own is always the best. This bag is the softest, lightest leather and the perfect not-too-big-not-too-small size.
So spoiler alert. As much as I’m dying to break out some new Spring fashion, this look is the first of my “Shop My Closet” series. I think being in Nola for Fat Tuesday and then Ash Wednesday made me decide to give up clothes/shoe shopping for Lent. But never fear — I’m going to stay on trend while staying on budget. I’m always up for a challenge (another upcoming post!), and hope you’ll enjoy the journey with me.
