Fall 2016: Always a Chic Combo

You’ve probably read numerous Wardrobe Must Have features. I know I have. Three pieces that always seem to make the list: White Shirt, Skinny/Straight Jeans, a classic pump. My closet already houses several white shirts/blouses and undoubtedly too many pairs of jeans. But there’s always room for a shoe that takes classic to killer.

Meet Gucci’s Marmont. A serious splurge that’s seriously star-making, no matter what you wear them with. I contemplated playing it safer with black suede or brown leather, but I just could not resist the Platinum. Every time I put them on I feel like Dorothy in her ruby slippers. They’re. Just. Magic. And soooo comfortable.

This Fall I added this swingy bell-sleeved top to my white shirt rotation. I love how easy it is to dress up or down. I’d tuck it into a skirt or high-waisted pants, too. Even layer it under a slip or sheath dress. And in case you’ve missed it, the Stagger Hem Jean is stalking the real life runway. Since I am on jean overload, I took matters into my own hands and staggered a pair I already own. It really was super easy. Cut off the hem all around first, then cut the front about 1″-1 1/2″ inches shorter in front. Wash inside out, and you’ll get the frayed edging that’s also of the moment.

Lastly, I styled this look for Day into Night. By day, I’d wear a choker and grab a top-handled bag. I like the sunny vibe the yellow adds. Headed from work to Date Night? Stash a statement necklace and clutch in your tote for later. Swoosh on some colorful lipstick and eyeliner, and you’re fab in a flash.

Shoes: Gucci Marmont (8 styles) and super affordable alternative here

White Shirt: (Zara, sold out) but similar here and here (if you’re not on a budget!).

Jeans: (Seven, old) but here  are the Frame ones that started it all and more affordable ones here

Choker: (J Crew, last summer) but this one is on sale! and this one is pretty crazy cool.

Bag: (Kate Spade, old) but love this and covet this

Necklace: (old, Maison Margiela for H&M) but this is pretty wow and this one, too.

Clutch: (vintage Vuitton) but pretty option here and pretty outrageous one here

We took some of these photos at  White Star Bar, JC’s answer (or one up!) to the Williamsburg local. They are famous for their burgers and beers on tap…deservedly so. Plus, everyone is super chill. Stop on by!
