This post is all about a few of my favorite Fall fashion finds. Some were shopped directly from my wardrobe once I finished my seasonal closet changeover, while others are new purchases already in heavy rotation. Like these high-rise cigarette jeans I’ve been wearing with everything. Seriously, I love them so much I have to stop myself from reaching for them every day. Or do I? (Spoiler alert: wearing them as I write this post!)
Walking into Fall like I found the perfect pair of jeans that are so affordable I still can’t believe it! Like their pricier designer counterparts, these medium indigo wash jeans are rocking a vintage vibe in all the right ways — high rise waist, slim, straight legs, and must-have statement cuffs. Unlike their designer counterparts, they will not bust your budget. And shhhh…these cigarette jeans feature secret smoothing pockets that keep you looking and feeling sleek and chic all day long.
These cigarette jeans are also part of The Gap’s better denim, better planet Washwell initiative. Compared to conventional wash methods, this program has already saved millions of liters of water since 2016 and pledges to reach 10 billion by 2020! If I can do good while looking good, all the better. (Sizing tip: I am 5′ 8″, so I went with a Tall to give me both the length and the cuffs I wanted.)
Other Faves
And how about this houndstooth shirt jacket. Or “shacket” in fashionista speak. Yes, it’s a thing. So now you know. It’s channelling the classic Chanel jacket but in a looser, more modern, layer-friendly silhouette. I love the fun, fringed cuffs and hems. Again, this is a piece that I’m going to be cozying up to again and again.
Underneath, I’m wearing an old cashmere turtleneck sweater from Kit and Ace. I discovered this cool clothing brand over 5 years ago and love their story of being all about technical yet fashionable apparel. While they don’t carry this exact turtleneck any longer, Kit and Ace do have a great alternative that I’ve linked below. I’d have to call this black turtleneck the most versatile piece in my wardrobe. It still looks and feels brand new and has literally traveled the world with me. It works on its own, tucked in or out, and layers beautifully (think slip dress in winter!).
Finishing Touches
When it came to accessories for this look, I mixed it up with high and low favorites — both new and old. On the high side, my bag is a Fendi Baguette Chris surprised me with in the 90s, so I guess that makes it vintage at this point! I loved this bag then, and I love it today. We sure have had some great adventures together. My black suede booties are a new find from Aquatalia, an Italian brand whose signature is a waterproof finish that keeps you looking stylish no matter the forecast. I cannot stress enough how comfortable these booties were straight out of the box! I love how they look, and I really love how they feel. Can’t wait for some bad weather…
My “lows” are really “highs,” because they are so fab and so fabulously affordable. These oversized sunglasses are super glam, super lightweight, and 100% UV protective. And how about this scarf-detailed scrunchie? It definitely puts the “Parisian” into your ponytail.
We survived the freaky Arctic Blast while I was working on this post and are back to more autumnal weather. That’s good ’cause I have big plans for all the pieces in this look. Snow? You can wait!

I love the shacket!!! I think I’m going to make a Zara visit today inspired by you!!
Thanks, Susie! Hope you find it!!
Ordered those jeans and can’t wait to get them. And I’m a longtime of Aquatalia. Beautiful shoes/boots, definitely waterproof, and they fit me right out of the box.
You will love the jeans. I have top stop myself from wearing them. And with the Gap’s crazy discounts, they really are a steal. Wish they came in black!
