My Favorite Color is Glitter

Confession. I think some of the sparkly sunshine we’ve been enjoying (until today!) got to me. This look, my mood. So it was easy to go for the gold in planning this post. All together, this gilded outfit makes quite the statement. If it’s too much for you (aw, c’mon), why not try adding one pop of glitter to a more toned down look? I promise it will make you smile. And it works wonders on others, too.

I don’t wear skirts that often, but when I do I want them to be pretty, feminine, out-of-the-ordinary. I snagged this sparkler on sale and knew it was something that would instantly lighten and brighten my wardrobe. Yes to sequins for day! And all year long. Its A-line silhouette and knee-skimming length is flattering to every body type. I paired it with my cherished platinum pumps. Next, it might be metallic flat sandals. In the fall, I could see black tights and booties. You get the picture. This skirt is going places!

I’ve been waiting for the weather to warm up enough to actually dare to wear a t-shirt, especially this super chic one sprinkled with glitter hearts. LOVE. And how cute will it look with jeans and sandals? Since there’s still a chill in the air despite our blue skies, I needed a sweater or jacket. I could not resist this cozy but not heavy popcorn cardigan. Seriously, so fun. And again so versatile. It will look super cute with so many looks,  from dressed up to dressed down.

For accessories, my Gucci Marmonts took another star turn. Sure, over a year ago they were quite a splurge. But I feel like Dorothy in Emerald City every time I wear them. And I will be wearing them for years to come. That’s fashion magic! This super cute clutch is really not a day bag, but we make exceptions. It was one of the goodies in one of my (many?) subscription boxes that I set aside until I could make it my own. And it was a super fun, kinda easy DIY (not gonna lie, see the video below). If you have a bag you’re bored with I would highly suggest giving it a sticker makeover. As for my earrings? What’s more spring-y than butterflies! With sparkle no less!

All I can say, is sometimes a girl’s just gotta get her glitter on! How about you? Would you add some sparkle to your your everyday style?

And…if you’re ever in Jersey City, you have to stop by White Star. They have a fantastic selection of craft beers on tap and burgers to die for.

  1. So great reading through your suggestions. Love your thought on wearing the skirt through seasons. I want!!

  2. Love everything about this post. Been trying to figure out how to pull off this type of look for day.
You always have such a great take on trends- but always ground them in reality 🙂
Off topic question- what bra’s do you recommend.? So important to pull off well in white T-shirt weather that is almost here.
    Thanks!

    1. So glad you’re enjoying LAS, Lara. And yes, I do try to ground my fashion flights of fancy in reality. Hands down, my favorite bra is Natori Underwire Contour Bra. I have it in nude (cosmetic), black and a few fashion colors. I try to refresh my selection during Nordstrom’s anniversary sale when you get a great deal on this great bra. Here’s a link to it: http://shopstyle.it/l/HF9D. Let me know if you give it a try and what you think! And thanks again for following the blog!!
