This summer (and probably for many summers to come) one of my go-to looks (also seen here) is going to be a simple yet well-tailored, knee-length dress, statement sneakers and a fun bag. Add some colorful bracelets, and I’m all set to stalk the city or enjoy an afternoon in the country. Plus, this look breezes from day into night with the greatest of ease.
I’m going to try to keep this post short and sweet, ’cause, well, so is this dress. Though not too short! I am pretty proud of how my 60+ legs are holding up (thank you treadmill, elliptical, walking, yoga, pilates, barre and hiking in the Dacks!), but my days of wearing a dress any more than a few inches above the knee are over. And I’m totally cool with that. Not to mention, it saves you from planting bare skin on a subway seat…yuck.
What really caught my eye about this dress was its easy silhouette balanced by tailored shirting details. And I loved the unexpected pop of blue in a leopard print. The perfect balance of comfort and chic. I’m sorry that it’s sold out, but I’ve linked some really great options below.
When it came to shoes, my new Golden Goose sneakers were just the ticket color and comfort wise. In case you don’t know the GG brand, they are the cult Italian (by way of Venice) sneakers that have attracted an intensely loyal following, yours truly included. Their Superstars, which I am wearing here, come pre-scuffed for that luxe, lived-in look. And they sport an extra padded insole, so you can look ever so cool while wearing them all day long (as seen in this post).
To finish off my look, I reached for this perfectly proportioned crossbody bag. It’s not too big, not too small. It’s simply ready for real life. And isn’t the striped shoulder strap so fun? Once again,. I’m rocking my colorful stretch bracelets. I bought a rainbow of colors, so I can wear them with just about any outfit.
Summer…I’m coming for you. And you better be ready!
