Easy, Tiger!

Greetings, fierce fashionistas. The Urban Dictionary defines this classic Yorkshire term (you go, Brits) as “Calm down!” Well, I’m feeling calm, but I’m not feeling Fall. Yet. It was 93 degrees in Jersey City yesterday! So it might just be this tropical jungle weather that’s got me feeling all tiger-y. (Yeah, not a real word, but it works.) Or, it might be WhoWhatWear x Target, the collection that’s killing it this season with all things animal print. (Excuse the non-PC pun, please.) Read on for all the details about what I’m wearing these days, especially this on-trend, tiger stripe top that’s an easy, versatile and affordable way to add this must-have print to your Fall wardrobe.

There’s a New Tiger in Town

Animal prints are continuing their reign of the fashion jungle this fall. So move over, leopard. It’s tiger’s turn to make a big style statement. I’m loving the tawny tones and bold graphic impact. And this swingy, puff-sleeved dress is the perfect way to take a walk on the wild side.

It’s a Jungle Out There

Leopards and tigers…oh my! You don’t need to go on safari to see how Fall fashion has embraced its animal instincts. I happen to be a particular fan of leopard with a little tiger and snake thrown in, but there are animal prints of every stripe and spot out there. Not to mention some cool color combinations. That’s why this slip dress, first featured in one my earliest posts, is also one of my most-loved animal print pieces. And with a layered look like this, it’s truly a dress I can wear all year round.

It’s Official: Leopard is a Neutral

Yes, leopard has been declared not just a neutral but also the “it” pattern by fashion authorities Bazaar, Refinery 29 and Who What Wear. But I already knew that, because I’ve been living on the wild side since, well, forever. And while I love me some chic cheetah or sophisticated snake, I have to admit leopard is my tried and true go-to because…it goes with everything! Black, white, red, stripes, florals…as you can see from this previous post and also this one.The “star” of this post is definitely the Naomi – Wild Things silk slip skirt by LA-based label Realisation Par. As the piece social media was instantly going wild for, it was hard to miss. Not to mention waitlist only. Still, I knew I had to have it. And it’s been on repeat since it arrived, garnering over 300 likes from my Insta post @ the David Bowie/BMA show. For this shoot, I styled it casually for day and ladylike for night. And you can bet I’ve got countless more outfits planned.
