Pattern Play
When I’m not loving all things leopard print, I’m falling pretty hard for deep-hued florals. They still feel fresh and fun with the weather staying closer to summer temps than those of autumn, especially when they take shape in a fabulous, flutter-sleeved midi dress like this. But cooler days are definitely ahead, so I’ve been playing with how to keep these two trendy patterns going, and better yet, going together.
Red Haute Leopard
I’ve been told by some I don’t smile enough in my posts. I try! Today, stepping out of my comfort zone and pairing this fabulous leopard dress with red haute accessories makes me smile. (To be filed under something you didn’t know about me: I had a brief renegade phase as an NYC teenager and my “tag” was “sonrisa,” which means smile in Spanish. What is a tag? It’s your graffiti name. What can say? I was born and raised in Greenwich Village in the 60s and 70s — where every kid was a bit of a rebel.)

Happy Fall, y’all! Today is officially its first day, and there’s actually a refreshing crispness to the air that wasn’t there last week. And I’m loving it! But since it’s still early days, I want to get extra fashion mileage out of some of my favorite summertime frocks. More specifically, the midi and maxi dresses a lot of us lived in.
