Just like garden annuals, summer always seems to bloom with floral prints (as seen in this recent post). And I am not one to resist their pretty, feminine appeal. But…sometimes I like my flowers to be powered up with a bolder, more graphic palette. And this floral print top-and-skirt combo was ripe for the picking!
Happy almost Valentine’s Day! When I think of hearts, I think of bright red. But that’s not really my color comfort zone. I prefer the warmth of deeper reds — burgundy, merlot, ruby. And every piece in this look spoke to me — on its own, and all together. So whatever happens tomorrow, you can still be your own Valentine with a little fashion treat!
With temps hovering around 90 degrees, I can’t even begin to think about fall fashion — even if every other blogger out there is touting the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Don’t get me wrong. The #NSale is a great way to get a great deal on key pieces you’ve got on your wardrobe shopping list. And that’s the key — make a list and stick to it! I’ve found I can all too easily go down the rabbit hole of impulse shopping for items I actually already own. Long grey cardigan? I already have two fabulous options. Chic crossbody bag? Check that too. So for the moment, I’m going to seize the day (and night) and dress for the moment. And right now sizzling weather demands an easy, breezy summer silhouette. Like this one.
