I’ve been told by some I don’t smile enough in my posts. I try! Today, stepping out of my comfort zone and pairing this fabulous leopard dress with red haute accessories makes me smile. (To be filed under something you didn’t know about me: I had a brief renegade phase as an NYC teenager and my “tag” was “sonrisa,” which means smile in Spanish. What is a tag? It’s your graffiti name. What can say? I was born and raised in Greenwich Village in the 60s and 70s — where every kid was a bit of a rebel.)
Tartan has been trending all Fall long, and it looks to be holding strong all through the winter months ahead. If you’re like me you already have a plaid scarf and plaid flannel shirt (or two) in your wardrobe. So when I saw this dress it was a “gotta have it” moment. Aside from its holiday-ready color palette, its midi length and classic, tailored silhouette make it as versatile as it is flattering.

As for finding deals and steals all I can say is “WINNING!” And by that I mean scoring great pieces I can wear now, into Spring, as well as next Fall and Winter. This look’s key players are this varsity jacket from Opening Ceremony, Madewell tuxedo stripe black jeans and Autumn Cashmere striped sweater. So even on a pretty gray day, I felt like a fashion champ.
