Show Your Stripes

Confession. I think some of the sparkly sunshine we’ve been enjoying (until today!) got to me. This look, my mood. So it was easy to go for the gold in planning this post. All together, this gilded outfit makes quite the statement. If it’s too much for you (aw, c’mon), why not try adding one pop of glitter to a more toned down look? I promise it will make you smile. And it works wonders on others, too.
Thanks to BomboGenesis 2018, I spent most of yesterday working from home. Not in these cozy jammies but with this super cute pooch to keep me company. OK, and also to distract me with some ear scratching and tummy rubbing (his!). When Nature called (for Bowie!) we both had to bundle up to brave the blowing snow, deep drifts and below freezing temps. I didn’t think it was so bad. Not so sure about Bowie. While I’m currently juggling a couple of projects, I’m also working on getting Life’s a Spritz off to its best year yet. So in planning forward, I did a little looking back. At my most liked Instagram outfit posts. Believe it or not, this look came in at #1! (Think my Bowie “accessory” helped!!)
Hello, Holidays! Thanksgiving was just over a week ago. Do you feel like you blinked and one fantastic holiday is now hurtling towards another? I don’t know about you, but this time of year I feel like everything goes into hyper mode. I made a detailed TO DO list today, and guess what, not checking it all off. But while we’re all multi-tasking, let’s also take a deep breath. We’ve got time to get it done.
Hope you had a great weekend! We are having the most amazing weather, and we got to enjoy it even more up at our Adirondack cabin. As you can see, it was seriously picture perfect up there. We always try to go to the Sugar House Creamery and stock up on milk, cheese, eggs and whatever looks good from the Farmer’s Market. New item…pumpkin spice scones! Crazy delicious!! We also had a weekend guest who is a dear friend but also a most talented Producer/Director. I was lucky to have her volunteer to be the photog for this post. BTW, SHC has the cutest Airbnb if you want to come up here and see just how special North Country living is.
There’s no other combination that’s cleaner, chicer, more graphic than black and white. However you put it together, it just works. You can dress it up, dress it down. You could probably wear black and white every day of the week and never wear it the same way twice. (Hmmm…possible future blog post?)
As for Art? Black and white makes a powerful statement there too. Yes, the messaging in this streetwise piece is pretty heavy, but I’m glad its creator found his voice.
Yes…that’s my photographer’s shadow. Not a perfect fashion moment, but hey, that’s life. This bright-striped duo has been hanging in my closet since June, and I couldn’t put its blog debut off any longer. Especially since stripes and Summer are made for each other. The cutaway crochet tank and pleated knit skirt are my first Worth New York purchases. It was really fun to work with Lisa, my friend and Worth Stylist, in their airy, elegant New York City showroom. I tried on quite a few things, but in the end loved how these two separates paired up. I think I even surprised Lisa with the look.
