The Perfect Party Dress

I hope you and yours had a very Happy Thanksgiving. And that if you actually ventured into the physical madness that is Black Friday you survived! We passed two huge traffic backups into outlet malls on our way up to the cabin, and I’m not ashamed to say that I was beyond relieved to be driving on. I did not even shop online! But now holiday celebrations are going to kick into high gear. We already have 4 parties and 3 events on the calendar. So…the perfect party dress is a must. And for my money, this is it.

I can’t imagine any dress more party perfect than this lace sheath. While there is the illusion of bareness, strategic tonal lining, a high neck and tailored bodice keep you covered. So you look sleek, chic, and just a little bit sexy. I love how ladder stitching accentuates the overall silhouette and eyelash edges finish it off. I chose the amethyst version of this lace dress, but it was a tough call. All the colors are stunning. (Size tip: I’m normally a Small but reviews said to size up, and I’m glad I did. Gotta leave some room for those party apps and desserts!)

Instead of black or metallic, I went with holiday-ready red for my shoes and bag, and I’m loving this unexpected color combo. But…this dress in deep green with purple accessories would be a wow. Not to mention the navy paired with gold or silver. You’ve seen my red Rockstuds here and here, but I’ve probably worn them dozens of times since I bought them. They will be walking the 2019 holiday circuit for sure. The red suede mini clutch was a freebie with a jewelry purchase, but I’ve linked some fab options below. My earrings are my favorite “dress up” clip-ons. They are Swarovski crystal and never fail to make a stylish statement (also seen in this summer 2017 post.)

And last but not least, every party girl needs a cozy coat to dash from here to there. This winter white one was a last gasp purchase from Barneys (sob). I had a gift card and just hours to use it. Lucky for me, this teddy jacket was my size and almost exactly the amount I had to spend. So while I’m sad Barneys is closing, I do have a lovely purchase to remember it by.

I’m going to make this coming week a quiet one, because starting next weekend things are going to get busy, busy, busy. But I do love celebrating life and love with friends and family. And isn’t that what the holidays are all about?
