There’s a New Tiger in Town

Animal prints are continuing their reign of the fashion jungle this fall. So move over, leopard. It’s tiger’s turn to make a big style statement. I’m loving the tawny tones and bold graphic impact. And this swingy, puff-sleeved dress is the perfect way to take a walk on the wild side.

Forget that we’re days away from Fall’s official start, it still feels like Summer here! So for now, I’m styling this tiger print dress with bare legs and black booties. I went with its matching self belt tied in a bow, but I could also see this dress with a black or cognac leather belt too (as seen here).

I need to give these smart, sophisticated black booties their due, because as good as they look, they feel even better. Their 2 1/2″ block heels give me the leg-lengthening height I want and the walkable comfort real life demands. You’d never guess, but they have a rubber sole and are waterproof too! Which means I’m going to look polished (and stay dry!) even when I’m leaping over puddles. Or snow drifts. And their squared off toe is right on trend. These kick a** black booties are definitely going to be in heavy rotation — with everything from dresses to skirts to jeans — from now until next Spring.

Black pulled me back when it came to my other accessories, too. I just love the retro Boho vibe of this macramé bag. I mean how fun is that fringe! And my fedora (seen here and here) made me feel instantly more put together. While wearing a hat might be out of your everyday comfort zone, and it was for me until recently, a hat makes you look special and helps you stand out from the crowd. Try it…you just might like it. At the very least, you can turn a bad hair day on its head.

I did go for a pop of color with my monogram bracelets (also seen here). It might seem a little early to be thinking about holiday gift giving, but I think one or two or three of these bracelets would make someone on your “nice’ list very happy. They come in nine colors and feature a 14K clasp and are made to mix, match and stack.

Transitional Style Tip: When it finally does get cooler or if it’s already cooler where you live, why not step into some sleek, chic over-the-knee boots (also seen here, here and here) and a cozy vest.

I’m not sure what my weekend wardrobe is going to be yet, but tomorrow I’ll be at Columbia University’s football game at St. Francis university in Loretto PA, then spending the night in Pittsburgh with a trip to the Warhol Museum Sunday morning. I’ve never been there, so I’m looking forward to checking it all out. Happy FriYay!
