Winter Games

I’m pulling this post together over early Monday morning coffee. Hope you had a great weekend! As you can see Chris and I had a very wintery one. The Adirondacks are beautiful all year round but particularly so when blanketed in fresh snow. When we headed up to our cabin on Friday it had been snowing for days. Let’s just say I was not wearing these made-for-winter Uggs when we arrived and had to trek through about 10 inches of snow to get to our front door!

As you can see, it’s hard NOT to play in the snow even if you are trying to shoot a blog post! And this chunky, playful sweater kicked off the mood perfectly. Between it, Uniqlo HeatTech and my uber cozy Uggs, I was all set and not the least bit cold. While my Snow Brigade sweater definitely inspired my outfit, it felt right to reach for favorites like these distressed skinnies and sparkly beanie. And how cute is this Owl scarf? I will say that up in the Dacks you could go a little crazy with animal motifs — owls, bears, deer and more — to the point of being labeled “adiron-dorky,” but I think the sequins on this scarf notch up its fashion quotient. And these gloves! Such a simple accessory that’s practical and superbly styled. Best of all, I got to “shop local,” which is something we try to do as often as we can.

Back inside, I had to show off my new Hannah Teter x Bombas ski socks! They are just too cute. They were on a 2-pair special when I spotted them online. The pair not shown made their debut skiing at Whiteface on Saturday, and I can report they kept my feet warm…and stylish!

Believe it or not, we don’t have TV service up at the cabin, so we could only catch the some of the Olympic Opening Ceremony while out at dinner Friday night, plus check the highlights by using my jet pack. We are extra excited that a “hometown” athlete from Keene, Tommy Biesemeyer, is making his Olympic debut in Alpine Skiing. Go BZ! Go Team USA!!

  1. I love the combinations you’ve put together! So attractive, so comfy, so appropriate for the weather, so full of personality!

  2. Hello! Would you be willing to sell this Zara oversized sweater? I’ve been looking for it for over a year and no luck :/
I’ll be in the Colorado snow this Christmas and hope to look HALF as good as you do! Thank you for your time <3

    1. Hi Silvana. I do love this sweater, so let me think about it for a day or two. Do you have a price in mind? I would have to include shipping, too.
      LMK! And thanks for following!!

  3. Hi! thank you so much for taking the time to answer and for considering. Honestly, it’s up to you, I don’t know if you’ve considered selling clothes before, you piece things very well together and definitely have that blogger/influencer vibe down pat! I saw this originally on Zara for around $50, I wanna say, then it went on sale for $20 and sold out, of course I didn’t jump on it fast enough. The last time I saw it was on a second-hand selling app for $30 but I always just miss it 🙁 I’d be willing to pay the original full price, if you’ll consider it. I’ve been looking for this sweater so much since I first saw it because my grandma had one with almost the identical pattern on it (a little bigger and not so fashion-forward) lol but I remember her in it..and really I just love it. Thank you again for your time, I really appreciate it.
