Candy Shop Colors

When I feel like indulging in a pastel palette, I look for sophisticated hues that are far from sweet, just bordering on neutral. That way they aren’t too saccharine in a head-to-toe look. And each piece can bring a soft touch when paired with other wardrobe staples — from white jeans to dark denim.

Both looks started with these lace-embellished pants that had been hanging in my closet for weeks just waiting to be worn. And they finally got their chance! I love how they can be dressed up (look 1) or dressed down (look 2). They are super comfortable and work with both heels or flats. I’m already thinking about pairing them with booties and a sweater when we get to Fall.

Both tops keep the silky vibe going but in their own unique way. With bell cuffs, an exaggerated collar and a watercolor floral print, there’s nothing ordinary about this long-sleeved top. The same goes for my short-sleeved option, which I styled both twisted and tucked in or loose and flowy. I loved how it looked either way.

Dressed-up accessories included a floral choker (old bargain costume jewelry find), studded designer sandals (old investment purchase) and an iridescent clutch (customized by yours truly with “ooh la la”). For dressed down accessories, I went with fun butterfly earrings (old), a shell-embellished linen bag (new), and woven leather slides (new).

If you’re considering some wardrobe refreshment this Summer, adding a pastel piece (or two) might be the way to go. Let me know if you do indulge!

Pants: (H&M, out of stock but you can sign up to be notified when they are restocked.) I also have my eye on these (neutral metallic), these (white organic cotton) and these (in light olive, rose gold and python-printed silk).

Blouse (1): (Ganni, a favorite designer scored from The Outnet, my favorite discounted designer site.) This exact top is sold out but this one just in and 55% off.

Blouse (2): (H&M, sold out) Other pretty pink options here, here and here.

Sandals: (Valentino, old but similar here.) More affordable here.

Slides: (Loeffler Randall, in 4 other colors too.)

Clutch: (old) Loving this, this (can be personalized!) and this — all in lucite.

Bag: (Brandon Blackwood, sold out but sign up to be notified when it’s back in.) This is super cute and 60% off, and this is under $100.

    1. Thanks so much, Kristin. If a wardrobe addition doesn’t have “legs,” it’s not a keeper. As always, thank you for your creative eye and gorgeous photography!
