‘Tis the season to dress up…or down. For me, that’s why this tweed jacket is so fantastic. It’s classically tailored, sparked up with sequins, and pretty much perfect with anything. And as I work to streamline my wardrobe, any piece I add from here on out has to be versatile and on trend but still timeless.

For this look I leaned into head-to-toe black, but I could just as easily have swapped in dark wash jeans and black boots for a more casual yet pulled-together look. Or how about a sweater and sequin skirt? I think it’s a good sign that I’m already coming up with multiple ways to wear it!

The sleeveless mock turtleneck was a fun find that I scored on sale (under $25!). I love that it looks sleek on its own and will make a great layering piece. It’s also very, very comfy. I for one am glad that fashion has shifted from the skinny silhouette to one that’s more free-flowing — like these faux leather, high-waisted pants. They’re ready to style however you like. From polished and pulled together to the more casual look that’s coming up…in my next post.

I decided to go all out with my accessories. I originally purchased this purse to wear with my Mother-of-the-Groom outfit for my oldest son’s wedding, but you also saw it re-styled in this post. I love my soft-as-slippers velvet slides with just a touch of bling. I reach for them again. and again, plus they’re a great footwear option when building a travel wardrobe. I kept the “Chanel vibe” of the jacket going when it came to this pearl bow necklace. Big, pearls, big bow, big impact!
