While the most dedicated fashionistas may already be focusing on their upcoming fall wardrobe, I’m savoring the last few weeks of summer. There will be plenty of sweater weather ahead, but for now, it’s all about easygoing shorts and cute tops.

This outfit might seem like pure summer, but every piece besides my white denim shorts, is going to be transitioning into fall. How fun will this embroidered top be with a favorite pair of jeans! I could easily just make that switch, keep the bag and shoes too, and be set for a sunny September or even October day.

According to experts and buyers, red is still going to be a big color for fall 2024. Timelessly bold, often bright, red conveys confidence and strength. Watch for deeper, darker iterations of the cherry reds seen here. I’ve even been reading about “volcano reds.” Wow. Per fashion editors, shades of red look particularly striking when paired with dark denim — so there you go.
