Springing Forward!

No, you are not seeing double. With the hope that warmer days are ahead, I decided to style this cozy sherpa barn jacket from my last post with some of my favorite spring essentials. Like I said in my earlier post, it’s a great layering piece — lightweight yet fully capable of keeping you toasty when necessary. I even think it’s camouflaging how darn cold I really was!

As you can see I did a “presto change-o” from my sweater to a puff sleeved blouse, from furry sandals to two-toned espadrilles (a recent on-sale designer score that I plan to pack this coming week for Savannah), from a leather bag to a faux-jeweled, feathery one.

I have been a J Crew convert for decades at this point, and this mini leopard print top is yet another reason I keep collecting (and wearing!) this brand. Plus, they have the BEST sales. I will pay full price if an item is just so special that I know it will sell out, but most of the time patience and frequent check-ins will pay off.

I love espadrilles, and this two-tone sandal hybrid is the best of all worlds. These babies will go with almost everything I own. And they are super comfortable. I bought this fun clutch to complete my Mother-in-Law wedding look, but I truly don’t believe something special is for special occasions only. It also has a gold-toned chain, so you can where it as a crossbody or shoulder bag. And you can even slide your finger through the clasp for yet another way to carry it.

Hope this look gives you a spritz of inspiration for some Spring looks — even ones you shop from your own closet. xoxo

  1. Love the quick change! I can only speak for me, but the weather in Dallas is pretty “unpredictable ” to say the least. Options are our best bets!

  2. As I have said time and again, you have a real talent for spotting unique accessories that pull an outfit together. In this case it’s the bag! Just a little something unique and unexpected that I love so much 💛
