I’m actually writing this post with my foot up in a post-surgery boot after a bunion revision last Friday. Boring! But as promised, here’s the follow up “casual take” on my new favorite tweed jacket. And you better believe I will be wearing these cute sneakers once I get the dang boot off. New foot, new shoe!
Let’s start with this jacket…again. Or, “lady jacket” I should say. What is a lady jacket? It’s a classically styled silhouette that’s structured and often slightly cropped. It’s also a versatile piece, because it can be worn as both outerwear or even as a top (over a cami?). Tweed (with a sprinkle of sequins) is its most popular iteration, but you can find it fashioned out of sweater knit or even denim. I’ve linked my faves below.
I’m still loving these faux leather pants — for so many reasons. They’re effortlessly cool in both look and feel, super easy to wear, yet perfectly polished — even when you’re dressing them down.
When it comes to this long sleeve tee, I am a sucker for anything that’s Paris adjacent. Especially fitting I guess when it’s paired with a “Chanel-inspired” jacket.
After my recent foot surgery, I’m going to be wearing ONLY super comfortable shoes for the forseable future, so treating myself to a new pair of colorful sneakers didn’t feel like a crazy splurge.
Last but not least, I shopped my closet for this beloved beaded bag. You’ve previously seen it here and here. It’s a fave that always makes me happy whenever I take it out for a spin.

I hope you feel better soon, MP!
Recuperation time won’t be fun for such an active, spontaneous, adventurous and creative person like you.
BUT, be a good patient and STAY OFF YOUR FOOT like the doctor ordered!
During your healing interim, you can start a sub-blog called Big Foot Fashion (just kidding!).
Just love these chic city sneaker!!!
Thanks for the encouragement, Regina. My”new” foot is coming along, although recovery is overall pretty boring. There are only so many documentaries I can watch! Or blog posts I can write!! Hopefully I’ll be in those city sneaks in a little over 2 weeks!!!
This dream weaver of an homage to Chanel could be a throwback but it’s never really been out of the spotlight. The faux leather pants are quickly becoming classics in their own right. Such versatility here! 👍🏻
What a fun comment! Thanks, Elisa!!
