To quote Lovin’ Spoonful (and date myself): ” Hot town, summer in the city.” And boy was it hot when we shot this post! So building a look around a cute pair of walking shorts was a no brainer. Even better when said shorts were yet another secondhand/consignment purchase.
At this transitional time of year the dress code is pretty crazy. One minute it’s chillier then expected and you’re underdressed, the next you’re back to being bundled up and breaking a sweat. What to do? I keep lightweight but cozy options (like this vest) at the ready, not to mention an accessory or two.
So seriously, are we all maintaining our sanity in the run up to Christmas? I surely hope so! I consider myself lucky in that I have 3 full-blown millennials who are not obsessed with wanting some particular “thing.” (Remember Furbies…XGames…Lego…phew.) So now I have fun searching out cool stocking stuffers (skull ice cube trays, beer’d wash, can’t disclose more!), and then we write them a check to help them on their way however they need and choose. We trust that they’ll make good decisions, maybe even put some away in a savings account. Thirty one days of holiday hoopla kick off tomorrow, and the true meaning behind what we’re celebrating can easily get lost amidst the shopping, working, wrapping, partying, traveling, stressing. But before that happens, or hopefully doesn’t, let’s take a moment to talk about the fashion phenomenon of faux fur. It’s EVERYWHERE. And for good reason. It’s the best of cozy…without the cruelty. I have to say I truly didn’t want to take this coat off once I had it on. Call me weird, but I’d sleep in it if I could. Or at least sneak a nap!
