At this transitional time of year the dress code is pretty crazy. One minute it’s chillier then expected and you’re underdressed, the next you’re back to being bundled up and breaking a sweat. What to do? I keep lightweight but cozy options (like this vest) at the ready, not to mention an accessory or two.
For the next few weeks I’ll be walking that fine line between Spring’s official start date and when the weather actually cooperates. That’s why I love this pretty pink puffer vest (seen here in navy). It’s the layer of warmth I just might need plus it adds a fun pop of color to any outfit. Next week we’re headed down South on a road trip, and I will definitely be packing it. If (when?) it finally gets really warm, I can roll it up and use it as a travel pillow in the car.
Since we’re ending up in Delray Beach and Palm Beach, a pre-travel pedicure is definitely in order. But until then my tootsies are staying undercover and my boots and booties will not be stored away. Which makes this the time of year that over-the-knee boots can do double duty as a way to ditch those winter tights and wear a dress! Like this breezy paisley number. It too will be making the trip but paired with sneakers by day and sandals by night. Stay tuned for how I style it.
And because fashion is truly cyclical, everything old is new again. On the runway radar? Short and long gloves, which were a staple in The Row’s Spring 23 and Fall 23 collections. So even if you keep your accessories to a minimum, new gloves offer an affordable way to update your wardrobe. Why not score a pair for next Fall on sale now? Over the years I’ve found a cashmere (or other non-itchy wool) beanie to be a no-brainer outfit add-on. Easy to wear when needed, easy to stash away when not. And that’s probably why my collection has grown to the point of needing a purge!
Last but not least, how fab is this feather bag? I bought it when I was down in Palm Beach in February. I love the fresh green color and the jeweled ring clasp. Full disclosure, I did add it to this look in the name of a fashion shoot, but I can’t wait to take it for a spin with both casual and dressed up looks during my upcoming trip…and in the months ahead.
If you’ve been able to make the transition from cold weather to warm, I’m jealous. But I’m also optimistic that I’ll be able to do the same soon. Happy Spring!

Can’t believe how affordable the feather bag is!
And there’s one in black and pearls. You find the best ‘pops’ of fun!
I know! I almost want to get another color!!
Target and Amazon scoring big!!!! The ruffles and puffy sleeves are so popular now but just not my thing – no good on my body shape and size. Oh well!!
Puffs and ruffles are definitely not for everyone. And best in small doses. Maybe you should treat yourself to the puffer vest?
You look amazing! Love the colorful background and your bag!!
