Despite temps that are still fairly cool, I’m determined to get my seasonal wardrobe switchover completed this weekend. I do this twice a year, and it’s a great way to assess what I loved wearing and what I did not. I also create keep, re-sell, and donate piles. And while these days I’m really focusing on downsizing my closet, I can also clearly make note of any new must-haves I’m missing.
This jacket is by Zadig & Voltaire, one of my favorite “cool girl” designer brands. Founded in Paris in 1997, Z & V is all about pieces that are unapologetically chic, effortlessly edgy. As much as I love their rule-breaking collections, they are on the pricey side. That’s why I constantly search the sales — online and in-store — for scores like this jacket that will spice up my style and not break the bank. The tailoring is impeccable, the silhouette timeless, and the sequin design just the right amount of cheek. Crafted in super lightweight wool, it’s a piece that seamlessly transitions from one season to the next. Typically, this jacket would cost over $600, but I found it for well under $200!
For the rest of my look, I stuck to head-to-toe black — a sleeveless ribbed tank, high-waisted straight leg jeans (seen here), chunky heeled sandals (also seen in this post), a woven rattan bag for texture, and an over-the-top skull choker that I actually bought to wear on Halloween. I love them all together, but each and every piece can work on its own in multiple ways.

My mom taught me style, style, style but also sale, sale, sale! I think my best buy was a long evening dress I found on the sale rack at Bergdorf ‘s – over $2 grand down to $400. Still expensive but I wore it to several events/parties and it was always a show stopper. I still have it!
A sale without style is not a value proposition, so those finds are even more special.
Awesome look with such great accessories!
Thanks, Kathy. Accessories are the cherry on the top!
