Is the weather where you are as wacky as the weather here? These days, I can head out in jeans and a tee and end up in a cozy jacket like this one — with a little wind or rain thrown in for good measure. So a beanie paired with no socks is not as crazy as it might seem. Happy to report that starting today I’m leaning into the idea that it’s actually warm outside, so much so, that I got a sandal-ready pedicure!
I’m no basketcase nor a lover of blatant logos, but I am a fan of the California streetwear brand BASKETCASE. I’m only in the know about this brand because I commented on one of my youngest son’s tees — and it’s Ironic message. So I did a little digging into how tattoos and flea markets influenced designer Zach Kinninger and his unique vintage-inspired graphics and styles. And I ended up buying this raw college knit sweater. Light enough for chilly summer nights, cozy enough for cooler days come next fall.
Same cool factor and versatility goes for these vintage-wash jeans. I’m always on the hunt for my favorite denim brands on sale. That’s how I scored this high-waisted Frame style that I really (really) love. Frame is a Los Angeles based brand devoted to the everyday effortless chic of a foundational denim wardrobe. The quality, fit and finish of every pair I’ve ever purchased is unsurpassed. I will never go back to mid-rise or low rise denim.
How about the pop of red, this season’s color, that these super cute Mary Janes bring to this mostly black outfit. Not only do I love how they look, I love how they feel! They are from Vivaia, a global footwear brand dedicated to supporting everyday life with eco-friendly comfort and style. More about Vivaia: their stretchy skin-friendly uppers are made from recycled plastic bottles, they’re designed to fit feet AA-E, and most are machine washable. This exact pair is a new style so not currently on sale, but you do get a discount with your first purchase. And there are lots of adorable styles on sale to choose from.
This fun, colorful crossbody bag from Ganni — another favorite designer brand (as seen in this post) — was also a sale score. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be my go-to everyday bag this spring, and possibly all summer long.
It’s almost 80 degrees as I write this, but it’s going back down to the 40s in in the next two days. Like I said, wacky weather. So I guess I’ll be dressing ironically for the foreseeable future.
