A Sunshine State of Mind

There’s no better time than summer to spice up your personal style — with brighter colors, bolder patterns, and whimsical details. While you can always slip into your favorite denim shorts and tee when running weekend errands, adding a few statement pieces to your warm-weather wardrobe can help create that fashion magic you might have been missing.

While I usually think of myself as a style minimalist, I went all out with this this silk blouse and skirt. I love love love the maximalist magenta hue and fabulous feathers. Back in March, I brought this blouse on a Girls Trip to Florida and paired it with white jeans. I’ve also worn it “jacket style” — unbuttoned over a white tank. So while a piece like this might seem over the top, it’s actually extremely versatile. And the retro “postcard” print of this flowing skirt is the perfect compliment. I scored it on sale and plan to put it into heavy rotation in the months ahead, not to mention packing it for future tropical getaways.

As always, I shopped my closet for the details that make the difference and kept the color coming with my accessories — from mismatched earrings to a perky personalized straw tote to boho chic block-heeled sandals.

From head to toe, I wanted to embrace a sense of carefree fun. And I truly think each piece I put together for this look is special in its own right. I hope you do too!
