Lighten Up!

Finally, summer weather is here. And that means we can break out our whites. As long as you switch up textures, it’s a cool, understated look I love from head-to-toe. For this look, I shopped my closet. Because who doesn’t have a selection of white pieces? You could easily flip this look with a white lace blouse, white jeans, flat white sandals, and an of-the-moment beaded bag. As much as I love the NEW, I’m really trying to be mindful of adding new things to my wardrobe. It’s a good watch-out for all of us!

Can I just say, pleats please? A pleated skirt is always a classic, but in airy white it’s a summer staple you can dress up or down. This skirt would look super cute with a tee, sneaks and jean jacket, too. Here, I paired it with a simple cotton tee piped in white leather, for that little added touch of texture.

My woven leather bag was a serious investment purchase a few years ago, and I have not tired of it yet. I put it away when September comes, then celebrate when I unpack it in May. Plus, it was a Net a Porter sale score so all the more reason to celebrate. Wedge sandals are always a way to lift up a look while keeping it walkable. And I’m a girl who likes to walk. Especially when it means walking to my favorite ice cream shop, Milk Sugar Love. Pictured here, Lemon Olive Oil, which is my favorite flavor. If you’re in JC, stop on by. You will be delighted!

  1. Ahl, the beachy look of all white never seems to go out of style! Perfect color for a hot, sunny day that also brings out your tan. I also love the simple jewelry you have paired with the simple whites.

    1. Thank you! White does just feel right on those bright-hot sunny days. And as for jewelry, I do love it simple…most of the time.
