The Art of Fashion

I like to believe that fashion is so much more than trends, labels or #outfitoftheday. At its best, fashion is a form of creative expression dreamed up by a designer, somewhere, somehow, and put on our blank canvassed bodies. Taken a step further, there’s an art to everyone’s personal fashion. Your vision may not match mine, and vice versa, but there’s more than meets the eye in what we choose to wear.

Frock Around The Clock, Look 2

Well, here we are with a second transitional look that should see you and your favorite summer midi through Fall…and beyond. I first posted this dress here. It was part of an Olivia Palermo x Banana Republic collaboration. As you would expect, every piece was on another level. Sadly, I don’t think year two is in the works, but again, it’s super easy to re-think your favorite summer midi dress just like this. Promise!

Feeling Kind Of Blue

IMG_0084It may be May, but temps here in JC are still on the chilly side. That’s when a jean jacket becomes my day-into-night go-to. This one is by a Earl, a now defunct brand, and is at least 10 years old. I loved it the first day I wore it, and I love it even more all these years later. The fitted cut and dark wash create a more sophisticated, less slouchy silhouette. To keep it fresh, I like to add pins and buttons collected on trips and vintage trawls. Museum shops are great sources, too.
