This Spring, the hottest silhouette on the fashion scene just might be the Boiler Suit. Most sought after in denim, think of it as the edgy evolution of the jumpsuit. It took me awhile, and quite a few try-ons, to find the right one for me. But now that I’ve jumped on the Boiler Suit bandwagon, it’s been a smooth and stylish ride.
Yes, workwear now meets womenswear. Aside from its body-flattering fit in stretch denim (for reference I am 5′ 8″ and wearing a size 4), the added details sold me on this retro-rrific jumpsuit. Like the classic seaming down the front and back, the set-in waistband, and the fresh, fun puff sleeves. I went for a rainbow of color with my accessories, but this boiler suit would look super chic accented with black, and super chill with white or neutrals.
For my accessories, let’s start at the top with this cute, colorful braided bucket hat. Is it me or am I channeling a bit of a Joni Mitchell vibe in it? As at home as this topper is in the city (and a skatepark, no less!), how perfect would it be for a summer picnic or a day at the beach? It’s totally packable, too.
I am loving this striped woven straw bag. The size is perfect — compact yet big enough for your phone, card case, sunnies and a few other essentials. The structured shape adds a polished attitude. And the tortoiseshell handles add a vintage-inspired touch.
It goes without saying that these colorful stretch bracelets are made for layering. The more the better, the bolder!
Last, but definitely not least, are my Gucci Ace sneakers. They’re so fun to wear and so versatile, you’ve already seen them here, here, here and here. They are now almost 3 years old but have never grown old style-wise! If you’re up for a splurge, there are several Ace styles to choose from. And you won’t be disappointed. And if not, I’ve also linked some more affordable options below.
How about you? Will you be jumping on the Boiler Suit bandwagon? Let me know if you join me!
