Cozy Does It

This time of year I find myself reaching into my closet or shopping the sales for cozy pieces I can mix and match. A crewneck sweater, especially in a fun design, is an easy and affordable way to add some fashion freshness to your wardrobe…and stay warm. Corduroy pants and a faux fur jacket also make the grade.

Star Separates

This adorable faux fur bolero is part of Jason Wu’s super chic, super affordable collaboration with Kohl’s. I dressed it down here, but it’s going to be making quite a few dressed-up appearances on the holiday party circuit. Lots of fab, festive dresses in the collection, all with a designer POV and almost ridiculous prices, too!

For my money, some of the best sweaters are Banana Republic. I really love their Italian Merino Wool Blend, which is the perfect combination of luxury and warmth. It’s also a less delicate and less expensive alternative to cashmere. This zingy zebra intarsia motif is sold out, but I’ve linked some collectible alternatives below.

These cropped corduroy pants in a warm shade of white are a great alternative to black. Cut in skinny-wale corduroy with a touch of stretch for comfort, their high-rise, wide-leg silhouette is flattering to a range of body types. I’m 5′ 8″ and often opt for a long (or tall) inseam when it’s offered. I preferred a lengthened crop silhouette, but a regular inseam is available, too. (Petite is sold out.)

Accessories

My accessories are old, new, re-imagined, affordable finds and high end splurges. In other words, a signature Spritz mix. A black-ish knit beanie is an everyday go-to that goes with almost everything. The marled black-and-white one I’m wearing here was a shop-my-closet special, but I’ve linked current faves below.

How cute is this round bag…that’s actually a versatile travel case? Part of Hudson and Bleecker’s Preto Collection, it’s the epitome of modern luxe in vegan saffiano leather with light gold finishes. It comes with a removable clear zip bag that is TSA friendly, which you can use to pack up all your toiletries. Once you’ve arrived, it transforms into a pretty and practical handbag. Because travel should not be about trade-offs, right?  Well, at least the things that are under our control!

My Double G belt and studded sneakers are most definitely designer priced pieces that are part of the Retail Math equation (as discussed in this post). Yes, they are a serious investment. Heck yes, they can elevate any outfit. And yes, for me they are worth every penny (or more truthfully, every dollar). But…mindful of all budgets, I’ve linked some more affordable but no less stylish choices, too.

Because most every blog, not to mention Instagram grid, is pitching gift lists, I’m not chiming in with mine. But, I do think a cozy sweater, chic beanie, versatile travel bag or stylish belt might be just the ticket for someone special on your list. (You?) Happy shopping! But most of all, Happy Holidays!!
