All Star Style

‘Tis the season to wish upon a star…or two. In my case, this cozy and colorful turtleneck sweater and my new favorite sneakers. But read on, because there is lots more All Star Style, including some gifting suggestions. If not for Christmas, then definitely for the winter months ahead.

The Amazon Coat!

Last winter this much-hyped coat was, quite simply, everywhere. And this year, it’s back and better than ever — with a flashy upgrade in new colors and finishes. In fact, this cult down coat even has its own Instagram account! Once temps dropped again, Fashionistas were bemoaning its ubiquity and whether they should give it another go-round. Guess what? It’s everywhere again this year. As an icon should be.

This “ugly chic” coat went viral for all the right reasons. It’s oversized and puffy in the most flattering way possible, so you never have to worry about stuffing your winter sweater inside. It has so many zippered pockets, you can definitely go purse-less if you want to. It’s ultra warm while still feeling ultra light. And…it’s irresistibly affordable.

Last year, I had a hard time deciding which color to get and finally settled on navy. This year (spoiler alert!), I’ve also sprung for one in a metallic olive green. If you are in the market for a cold-proof, cool girl down coat, this is the one. Even Oprah approves! And if you have some stylish kiddos on your list, it comes in an adorable pint-sized version, too.

All Star Separates

As much as I’ve downsized my shopping, I’ve still been unable to resist adding a few finds to my winter wardrobe. Like this puff-sleeved sweater. Cause when it gets cold, why say no to a turtleneck? Especially when it’s covered in pretty pink-and-white stars. I’ve paired it with my favorite high-rise cigarette jeans (as seen here), but how cute would it look with a more dressed up option — a navy, pink or white skirt (like this pleated one here) or winter white jeans or cords (as seen in my last post).

I’ve said lots of good things about these high-rise cigarette jeans and my love affair continues. Vintage stretch denim, raw hem, statement cuffs, smoothing pockets, a flattering fit for for all body types. They’re also part of Gap’s water-saving Washwell™ program. Compared to conventional wash methods, Washwell™ has saved millions of liters of water since 2016. Best of all, they’re not sold out!

All Star Accessories

When it comes to sneakers, Golden Goose are definitely splurge-worthy. While there are some nice dupes out there, this Italian fashion label is renowned for impeccable quality and an almost-maniacal attention to detail. Launched in Venice in 2000, these luxury sneakers feature a bold graphic star (in this case, a glittery silver one) and the brand’s signature hand distressing (yes, your sneakers are intentionally scuffed). I loved my first pair so much (as seen here and here), that I decided two are better than one.

My Swarovski crystal-encrusted beanie (seen here) and pink suede bag (as seen here) are old, but I’ve linked some covetable alternatives below. Happy shopping! And the Happiest of Holidays!!

Sneakers: (Golden Goose, mine are from Barneys and no longer available but love this Nordstrom exclusive.) Much more affordable (and cool!) dupes here and here.

  1. While Texas weather doesn’t require such a wonderful coat, I might enjoy borrowing it next time I’m up your way 🤞🏻!
