While many of the runway looks from this most recent cycle of fashion weeks were pretty over the top (IMHO), I was taken with the high quality, low key chic of both attendees and wannabes. Non-trend trends appear to be having a moment, and as we move from winter to spring, streamlining that wardrobe transition with classic options feels more appealing than ever.

We shot this post a few weeks back, and I was so excited to feature this fantastic faux fur-trimmed parka (now on sale!). But then Bomb Cyclone blew in, along with arctic temps, and fun fashion flew off the radar. Fortunately “normal” winter weather has returned, and I can put this parka, along with a snappy beret and footwear other than snow boots, into heavy rotation.
A few weeks back in February people were actually strolling around in sandals, shorts and tees and dining al fresco. Then March rolled in. It’s gotten chillier by the day, and while I’m dying to break out my favorite new Spring pieces, it’s still too soon to do it from head-to-toe. But…you can mix in the new (long cardigan, pom pom sneakers and white jeans) with cozier layers you already own (turtleneck sweater, cashmere beanie).
