Dressed to a Tee

I hadn’t planned on taking almost 2 weeks to post Statement Tee, Look 2 but between a new work assignment and summertime activities, my blogging goals were demolished. This look is uncomplicated and casual and one you can definitely recreate in your own way. But it’s the details that make the difference.

When I started blogging, I made it my goal to post twice a week. Three times felt like too much and once is, well, just once. For the most part, I’ve hit my mark until the past few weeks. As much as I love putting together new and hopefully inspiring looks, scouting locations, collaborating with my Photog Kristin on shoots, reading your comments, it all felt like a struggle.

But…I’ve asked myself some tough questions and given myself some tough love, and I seem to have gotten my blogging mojo back. One change I’m going to put into the works is going back to my original plan and try for one fashion and one beauty/health/design/DIY/travel post per week. After all, variety is the spice of life, right? So I hope you’ll bear with me over the next few weeks, as I stretch my blogging wings. Please let me know you think! It really, really makes a difference!!

Now, back to this look. Like Look 1, Look 2 started with this witty, wearable “Woman” Statement Tee. And on our way to the location, we spotted another JC resident wearing it, too! Instead of a swingy sequin skirt, I swapped in a pair of high-waisted, split hem bootcut jeans. To elevate , my black denim I went with a designer leather belt.

Since I had to change in the garage that was being demo’d (don’t ask!), I decided to keep my Rockstud sandals on. But you could definitely dress them up with a high-heeled strappy sandal or a pair of black booties. You’ve seen my “winky” bag before. It’s actually a quick “closet DIY” that combined a see-through tote (seen here) with a clutch I’ve owned for years. Voilá! Baby’s got a brand new bag!

Tee: (Banana Republic, sold out but similar here.) Also like this, this and this.

Jeans: (Free People, also in sky blue and indigo. FYI, I sized up.) Designer leatherette (want!) option here and even more affordable here.

Belt: (Gucci) More affordable designer option here (reversible!) and super dupe here.

Sandals: (Valentino) Similar here and here.

Bag: (old) Check out this and this (super sale!).

  1. I love hearing a little of the backstory! And it made me laugh to think of all the struggles and hurdles we go through to get content out for the world.
Got my statement Tee in. And I tweaked it a bit. Cut the hem and sleeves, And sliced the neck line down. I love it! So soft and fun!
Can’t wait to see what you have in store as you continue to tweak your feed!
