When you think of crochet does your grandma’s favorite hobby come to mind? That was then. Now, the newest knits are more refined, less homespun. Making today’s crochet a cult favorite. Birds of a Feather
I know I’ve been hyping stripes this summer, but I’ve gotta give it up to the pure fashion fun of feathers too. They’re what take this slouchy graphic top from comfy to full-on chic. And a top this bold deserves the perfect backdrop. Luckily Jersey City is full of the most colorful and creative street art, so I think we succeeded on that front. Come take a walk on the wild side with me…
The Art of Black and White
There’s no other combination that’s cleaner, chicer, more graphic than black and white. However you put it together, it just works. You can dress it up, dress it down. You could probably wear black and white every day of the week and never wear it the same way twice. (Hmmm…possible future blog post?)
As for Art? Black and white makes a powerful statement there too. Yes, the messaging in this streetwise piece is pretty heavy, but I’m glad its creator found his voice.
Stripes on Stripes
This is definitely a “might be too much but go for it” look. And I’m glad I did. It wasn’t planned, though I was dying to feature this fantastic VB for Target skirt. But for me that’s fashion. You get something new that inspires you, and you let it fly from there. Contrasting stripes (or patterns, like my last Flower Power post) are on the fashion radar, so I just decided to put my spin on it. I also wanted to shoot in front of this really cool new JC street art. So…kismet I guess.
