If you live in a city, one of the biggest summertime perks is a pool. Especially this summer! So once DVORA gave us permission to shoot this post at their La Playa, we were there. Both the lifeguard Keanu and my photog Kristin tried to convince me to jump into the pool in this dress (!!!), but this urban mermaid preferred to play it cool…and dry.

I can’t remember a hotter summer in the city then this one. So dressing to not just look cool, but to stay cool, is a priority. And on steamy days and nights, a sundress feels like the perfect one-and-done in terms of pulling together an outfit. Just add shoes, a bag, and sunglasses (prescription Warby Parker for me), and I’m good to go.

This sundress is a limited edition collab between Los Angeles based brand Simon Miller and Mango dedicated to bringing you the best blend of California and Mediterranean style. The fabric quality is excellent, and I love the vibrant color vibe. I’m planning to rock this dress at a Hamptons party this coming weekend, as well as out on Fire Island in a few weeks, and then again in Jamaica and Florida this winter. I’m wearing it with heels here, but I could just as easily pair it with flipflops, too.
