Just like garden annuals, summer always seems to bloom with floral prints (as seen in this recent post). And I am not one to resist their pretty, feminine appeal. But…sometimes I like my flowers to be powered up with a bolder, more graphic palette. And this floral print top-and-skirt combo was ripe for the picking!
This summer (and probably for many summers to come) one of my go-to looks (also seen here) is going to be a simple yet well-tailored, knee-length dress, statement sneakers and a fun bag. Add some colorful bracelets, and I’m all set to stalk the city or enjoy an afternoon in the country. Plus, this look breezes from day into night with the greatest of ease.
I’ve been told by some I don’t smile enough in my posts. I try! Today, stepping out of my comfort zone and pairing this fabulous leopard dress with red haute accessories makes me smile. (To be filed under something you didn’t know about me: I had a brief renegade phase as an NYC teenager and my “tag” was “sonrisa,” which means smile in Spanish. What is a tag? It’s your graffiti name. What can say? I was born and raised in Greenwich Village in the 60s and 70s — where every kid was a bit of a rebel.)
It’s all too easy to fall down the Amazon Prime rabbit hole, isn’t it? But in the name of scoring some serious style that’s seriously affordable, it’s a journey I’m willing to take. And share my top 5 finds for Spring with you!
This Fall, everyone has gone mad for plaid. Including yours truly. And why not? It’s a timeless pattern that always looks polished, no matter what you wear it with. Working in Advertising means I can pretty much wear anything any time, but I do like looking pulled together. And this plaid blazer is just the ticket. Not to mention these bow-topped slingbacks. Fun, right?
So here in JC the sun shined for like a hot second. Then a BomboGenesis blew in (again!). Wind, snow, rain, cold. In the Northeast, March is the month that can’t make up its mind. (If you live in a warmer, milder climate I might hate you…) But rewind back to this shoot. I was thrilled at the idea of sneakers and not boots, and OK, maybe a coat. But it could stay unbuttoned. And let’s hear it for white jeans whenever, wherever. (In case you forgot, this is going to be a Shop My Closet month. And shop I did.)
Hello, Holidays! Thanksgiving was just over a week ago. Do you feel like you blinked and one fantastic holiday is now hurtling towards another? I don’t know about you, but this time of year I feel like everything goes into hyper mode. I made a detailed TO DO list today, and guess what, not checking it all off. But while we’re all multi-tasking, let’s also take a deep breath. We’ve got time to get it done.
