Cloud Cover

Even though we are enjoying an unseasonably warm Fall, it’s never too soon to assess your coat closet and see what you’re missing. I’ll be honest…I’m really not missing a puffer jacket, but the one I own is black. A classic for sure, but sometimes you just need something a little more unexpected. And fun. Enter Zerina Akers and her latest Icons of Style x Macy’s Collab. As a stylist to the stars, Zerina’s credentials are sky high. And this cloud printed puffer is the perfect example of her signature imaginative chic.

Baby, it’s cold outside!

I can’t believe it’s already the last day of 2017, and that we’ll wake up to a New Year tomorrow. But before that happens one last post from our last day up in the Dacks, at least for a few weeks. And if you can’t tell  by my “frozen” smile, it was seriously cold up there! What you can see with this outfit: a pom-pom beanie, puffer and OTK boots. What’s not obvious? The Uniqlo HEATTECH turtleneck and socks that helped me brave the single digit weather. While not down-filled, this puffer jacket keeps you quite cozy. And it’s also reversible!

Give Thanks!

It’s not like me to step off the grid completely, even at our cabin, but this past week I did. I even stayed up there by myself with Bowie for two nights — a first! I thought about my family, my life today, and my intentions for tomorrow. No Black Friday shopping! Though I did happily do some some Shop Local Saturday shopping in Keene. I’m sure you’ve been bombarded by both other bloggers and company emails. I don’t think you need me adding to the din. If you did get some holiday shopping or decorating done, I say good for you.

Rainbow Country

This past Sunday it was our typical round of chores before heading back to “reality” — dump run, Sugar House Creamery for milk, yogurt and more, plus a quick check in at one of our favorite local stores, Big Crow Trading. Must be in the air, because everywhere I looked I saw rainbows! Oh…and lots (and lots) of taxidermy. And I’m sure you noticed that Bowie wore his rainbow stripe sweater, too.

City & Country

We shot this post in my JC neighborhood, but the plaid top has already migrated up to our cabin. It’s a fun, feminine twist on the flannel shirt look that’s right at home in the mountains. Once the weather cools down, a black puffer is perfect…anywhere, anytime. And there are so many great options out there. This one has a slightly shiny finish, which makes it a bit more city chic. Have to confess I also have its twin by another mother in the Adirondacks.
