Falling Forward

I’m writing this post from our beach house rental, where it’s a breezy but very sunny 88 degrees. Call it end-of-summer denial, but I’m finding it hard to believe that in another month or so most of us will be unpacking our cashmere sweaters, booties and more. Not to mention wearing them! So I thought this might be a good time to share some of my personal “get prepped” wardrobe tips and tricks.

Statement Tee, Two Ways

In case you missed it, the Statement Tee is making quite the fashion statement. From designer priced to under $10, from rock legends to bucket list destinations to political POVs, the Statement Tee is a quick, chic, and personalized way to update your look. It also happens to be my favorite way to refresh “shop my closet” outfits.

It’s Official: Leopard is a Neutral

Yes, leopard has been declared not just a neutral but also the “it” pattern by fashion authorities Bazaar, Refinery 29 and Who What Wear. But I already knew that, because I’ve been living on the wild side since, well, forever. And while I love me some chic cheetah or sophisticated snake, I have to admit leopard is my tried and true go-to because…it goes with everything! Black, white, red, stripes, florals…as you can see from this previous post and also this one.The “star” of this post is definitely the Naomi – Wild Things silk slip skirt by LA-based label Realisation Par. As the piece social media was instantly going wild for, it was hard to miss. Not to mention waitlist only. Still, I knew I had to have it. And it’s been on repeat since it arrived, garnering over 300 likes from my Insta post @ the David Bowie/BMA show. For this shoot, I styled it casually for day and ladylike for night. And you can bet I’ve got countless more outfits planned.
