While it’s not officially Fall for several days, it’s always bittersweet when Summer starts to fade away. Sure it’s fun to think about cozy sweaters, favorite boots and toasty fireside cocktails, but there are also frigid temps, slushy streets and cancelled flights ahead. Be that as it may, this September I for one am going to keep walking on the sunny side of the street for as long as I can.
I actually started Life’s a Spritz five years ago in September, so I guess it’s a Blogversary of sorts. Back then, I focused my first posts on seasonless pieces that can make the transition from Summer to Fall. And guess what? I’m still shopping for my wardrobe and styling my looks with those qualities in mind.
Take this black knit polo. A classic staple that works on its own but when the days and nights get cooler will look great under a blazer like this, this or this. I might even layer it over a white button down as well. For this look, I paired it with a fun, fluttery pleated midi skirt in bold stripes. Love its bright attitude. I think this flouncy, colorful silhouette will also make a strong autumnal statement when paired with black tights and booties.
These chunky, comfort sandals with luxe goldtone hardware are super affordable Chanel dupes, and I can’t tell you how many women have complimented me on them. They effortlessly master the art of high-low style, while pampering my feet with all-day walkability. I love them so much, I’m about to buy another black quilted pair. And when bare feet are not a realistic option, I plan to wear them with black or glittery anklets.
As for my accessories, I can swap in a black beret for this straw fedora and a black leather bag for this macrame version. The earrings? I will continue to rock them every season, all year long.
However you are transitioning your wardrobe from Summer to Fall, I hope you’ll find some fresh inspiration in this post. Let me know! Happy September!!
