The March weather here has been seesawing from temptingly Spring-like to blustery and snowy. Which means it’s too soon to pack away my sweaters, boots and puffers. So in an effort to fight off a bit of fashion malaise, when I spied this cozy plaid coat on sale I knew it was the perfect piece to fill out my outerwear wardrobe. To wear now, to look forward to wearing next year.

Mocha Chocolata Ya Ya
Another timeless trend that emerged during this cycle of Fashion Weeks was a love for the color brown in its entire spectrum — from dark chocolate to mocha to buttery honey to creamy camel. I’ve always been drawn to this calming, grounded palette, so I’m pretty pleased to see it come around once again.
Closet Classics
While many of the runway looks from this most recent cycle of fashion weeks were pretty over the top (IMHO), I was taken with the high quality, low key chic of both attendees and wannabes. Non-trend trends appear to be having a moment, and as we move from winter to spring, streamlining that wardrobe transition with classic options feels more appealing than ever.
Not So Plain Vanilla
It’s about this time of year that as much as I rely on black pieces as the foundation to my winter wardrobe, I’m also pretty tired of wearing black, not to mention seeing it on everyone else. But if I’m going to shop for something new, it has to have staying power beyond the here and now. And if I can score it on sale, it’s a done deal.
How I Stop Style Fatigue
It’s about this time of year that I start to feel tired of my everyday winter wardrobe and look for ways to change it up. Like swapping in off-white jeans for black or dark wash denim. And doing a little smart shopping for a sweater with unique details, not to mention a cozy accessory or two.
Looking Back, Looking Ahead
How was your first week of 2023? Mine was both a mental and physical transition from last year into this new one. In the quiet moments, I reflected on what did and did not happen in 2022, but also what I made happen and did not make happen. Food for thought and fuel to do more, see more, be more in the 365 days ahead.
West Dressed
It’s been a little over six weeks since I got back from my late October/early November trip. First stop was the Palm Beach wedding I featured in my last post. Then I flew out to LA for a few days to visit our youngest son and his girlfriend, as I had yet to see their adorable apartment in person. Next up? A long-planned trip to Joshua Tree and Palm Springs with a group of college girlfriends.
Wedding Guest Dress
You’re invited to a posh, Black Tie Palm Beach wedding, and you want to look your best — without breaking the bank. But can you find a dress you love and that you’d love to wear again? With some smart shopping, yes you can. And the winner is…
Pardon My French
According to Goop, French women typically invest in fewer but better clothing pieces. What you’ll find in their wonderfully wearable wardrobes — an impeccably tailored blazer (or two), well-cut denim, simple but sophisticated shirting, footwear that is both classic and cool, and minimal accessories.
Come Fly With Me
The feather-trimmed shirt I featured in my last post was so fabulous that I had to get it in white as well. Because every wardrobe needs a good white shirt or two, this wasn’t an excessive splurge. I will resell or donate an older version and let this one add a fresh flourish to everything from the corduroy jeans I teamed it up with here to dark denims or a midi skirt. I think the cuffs look so eye-catching fluffing out from the blazer, too.
